Host defense peptides like LL-37, traditionally known for fighting infections, also play a significant role in blood clotting and tissue repair. This review reveals that platelets actively produce these peptides rather than just carrying them, and that at different concentrations the peptides can either promote healthy wound healing or trigger harmful blood clot-related inflammation.
