Investigated how glycosaminoglycan (GAG) oligosaccharides can inhibit LL-37's tumor-promoting effects in breast cancer cells. Heparin was the most effective inhibitor, requiring at least 18 monosaccharide units and high sulfation. Binding studies showed nanomolar affinity between LL-37 and heparin. Results suggest GAG mimetics could be a targeted strategy to block LL-37-driven tumor progression.
