Narrative review of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) as a therapeutic approach for HACEK endocarditis. MSCs produce key antimicrobial peptides including cathelicidin LL-37, hepcidin, and beta-defensin-2 that show efficacy against a broad spectrum of microorganisms. Preclinical studies suggest these AMPs reduce inflammation, enhance cardiac function, and augment antibiotic efficacy.
