Demonstrated that the mouse cathelicidin CRAMP-34 can eradicate pre-formed bacterial biofilms by interfering with a key regulatory gene network. Genome-wide transposon screening identified a critical biofilm gene whose deletion phenocopied CRAMP-34 treatment. In a murine wound infection model, CRAMP-34 promoted healing and halted organ colonization.
