Discovered that cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide expression in neutrophils and neurons has antagonistic effects on neuroinflammation in multiple sclerosis. Cell-type-specific cathelicidin expression modulates autoimmune CNS inflammation, suggesting targeted therapeutic approaches.
