Compared a nisin A-producing Lactococcus cremoris teat disinfectant vs. conventional iodophor dip in dairy cows using shotgun proteomics. The Lactococcus group showed higher levels of antimicrobial proteins including cathelicidins in milk, particularly in cows with mammary inflammation, suggesting immunostimulatory effects of the probiotic-based disinfectant.
