Demonstrated that retinoic acid (vitamin A derivative) boosts neutrophil killing of MRSA by stimulating reactive oxygen species, neutrophil extracellular traps, and LL-37 production. While insufficient against MRSA in vivo, retinoic acid directly inhibited Group A Streptococcus growth and showed therapeutic potential in a murine GAS skin infection model.
