Develops ROS-responsive thymosin β4-loaded titanium implants for improving vascularization and osseointegration of bone defects. The implant coating releases TB4 in response to reactive oxygen species (which are elevated at inflammatory injury sites), providing temporally appropriate angiogenic and immunomodulatory signaling. In rat calvarial defects, TB4-releasing titanium showed significantly increased vascularization, M2 macrophage polarization, and bone formation compared to uncoated titanium. Smart delivery of TB4 improves implant integration.
