Quantitative iTRAQ proteomics study of serum protein changes in chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) patients receiving acupuncture treatment. Thymosin β4 was among the proteins significantly upregulated by acupuncture treatment alongside tropomyosin-4, profilin-1, and transgelin-2 (all cytoskeletal regulators). Provides evidence that acupuncture's beneficial effects in CAG may involve TB4 upregulation as part of a coordinated cytoskeletal and anti-inflammatory response.
