Tests thymosin β4 and its derived fragment peptides for effects on ovarian cancer cell migration and invasion. Full-length TB4 and specific shorter fragments (including the LKKTETQ motif-containing segment) promoted cancer cell migration and invasion in vitro. Other TB4 fragments had neutral or inhibitory effects. Maps the pro-migratory activity to specific TB4 structural regions—identifying which TB4 fragments would need to be avoided or blocked in anti-cancer contexts while preserving wound healing properties.
