Engineers electrospun PLGA/PLA nanofiber-coated microfiber hybrid yarns incorporating thymosin β4 for tendon tissue engineering applications. The nanofibrous architecture mimicked native tendon collagen ultrastructure and improved human adipose-derived stem cell adhesion, proliferation, and tendon-specific gene expression. Sustained TB4 release from the PLGA coating further enhanced tenogenic differentiation and collagen production. Demonstrates TB4-functionalized biohybrid scaffolds for tendon repair—expanding TB4's biomedical materials applications beyond vascular and wound healing contexts.
