Tests cobalt bis(dicarbollide) [COSAN] metallacarborane conjugation with thymosin β4 to improve the peptide's pharmacological properties. COSAN-TB4 conjugates showed enhanced human serum albumin binding (extending half-life), improved membrane permeability, and maintained or enhanced TB4's wound healing bioactivity. Provides a novel metallacarborane-based strategy for TB4 pharmacokinetic enhancement—complementing the thermal boron conjugation approach (PMID 30365887) and advancing TB4 peptide engineering for therapeutic development.
