Identifies thymosin β4 as a positive regulator of primary cilium (PC) formation in HeLa cervical cancer cells through interaction with nephronophthisis 3 (NPHP3)—a ciliary transition zone protein. TB4 overexpression increased PC frequency; TB4 inhibition reduced ciliation. Yeast two-hybrid confirmed direct TB4-NPHP3 interaction. Establishes TB4 as a novel ciliogenesis regulator through NPHP3 binding—mechanistically preceding and complementing the later TB4-Nrf2-PC survival axis study (PMID 36424462) and identifying NPHP3 as the ciliary scaffolding link for TB4's PC regulation.
