Quantifies the effect of whole blood storage time and temperature before plasma isolation on biomarker protein measurements, using stable-isotope-labeled recombinant protein standards and LC-MRM-MS. Thymosin β4 was among 15 proteins tested; TB4 levels changed significantly with increased storage time before plasma processing. Defines pre-analytical conditions that preserve TB4 quantification accuracy—critical for standardizing TB4 as a clinical biomarker across different hospital collection protocols for sepsis, myocardial infarction, and liver disease applications.
