Tests thymosin β4 treatment after severe lateral fluid percussion TBI in rats, measuring plasma miRNA profile changes by droplet digital PCR. TB4 treatment significantly altered the circulating miRNA signature post-TBI, increasing miR-200a/200b (previously identified in stroke models) while modulating additional miRNAs relevant to neuroplasticity. Identifies systemic miRNA reprogramming as a mechanism through which TB4 orchestrates neuroprotective responses after TBI—and establishes plasma miRNA profiling as a translational biomarker approach for TB4 therapy monitoring.
