Tests Selank's effects on expression of 84 GABAergic neurotransmission genes in IMR-32 neuroblastoma cells, comparing to GABA itself and the antipsychotic olanzapine. Selank altered expression of multiple genes including GABA receptor subunits, transporters, and related ion channels—distinct from but overlapping with GABA's effects. Suggests Selank modulates GABA system gene expression through a multi-gene regulatory mechanism.
