Pilot study using MALDI imaging mass spectrometry (MALDI-IMS) to map protein spatial distribution in multiple sclerosis brain lesions—active plaques, inactive areas, and remyelinated regions. Thymosin β4 was among the proteins spatially mapped in MS tissue, detected within the lesion microenvironment. Provides spatial proteomic context for TB4's role in MS—showing where TB4 protein is distributed within lesion types and complementing the functional MS review (PMID 30317071) with anatomical protein distribution data relevant to remyelination biology.
