Examines how Selank and GABA affect gene expression in rat frontal cortex. One hour after Selank administration, 45 genes showed altered expression including GABA receptor subunits, dopamine and serotonin receptors, and ion channels—broader effects than GABA alone. At 3 hours, expression patterns shifted, suggesting Selank initiates a cascade of GABAergic and monoaminergic transcriptional changes underlying its anxiolytic and nootropic effects.
