Demonstrates MALDI Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance (FTICR) mass spectrometry imaging for intact protein tissue mapping, achieving resolving power of ~75,000 and mass accuracy <5 ppm for proteins up to 12 kDa. Thymosin β4 (~5 kDa) was precisely identified and spatially mapped in tissue sections, enabling confident protein identification from ion images. Advances the analytical capability for TB4 tissue imaging—enabling proteoform-level TB4 detection with spatial context in disease tissue sections.
