Demonstrates thymosin β4 improves dermal burn wound healing in db/db diabetic mice by downregulating the receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE). TB4 reduced RAGE expression in diabetic burn wounds—normalizing AGE-RAGE signaling that impairs healing—while accelerating re-epithelialization and vascularization. Extends TB4's anti-RAGE vascular protection (PMID 25640761) to a practical clinical context: diabetic burn wound management where RAGE-mediated impairment of healing is a major challenge for this high-risk patient population.
