Characterizes thymosin β10 (TB10) expression and function during mouse lower first molar tooth germ development, comparing to TB4. TB10 was expressed in dental mesenchymal cells while TB4 was in dental epithelial cells, with face-to-face localization of preodontoblasts (TB10+) and preameloblasts (TB4+) at the bell stage. Provides evidence for complementary TB4/TB10 functions in tooth development through epithelial-mesenchymal cell-cell crosstalk—establishing that the two beta-thymosin family members play distinct but coordinated roles in odontogenesis.
