Develops a capillary electrophoresis-mass spectrometry (CE-MS) method using multiple ions monitoring (CE-MIM-MS) for quantitative analysis of thymosin β4 in whole saliva. The MIM scan mode targeting the four most intense TB4 multicharged ions reduced baseline noise and improved sensitivity for TB4 detection in this complex biological matrix. Provides a validated analytical method for salivary TB4 quantification—relevant for non-invasive TB4 biomarker studies and for monitoring TB4 in conditions affecting salivary gland function such as Sjögren's syndrome (PMID 27716395) and other autoimmune diseases.
