Identifies serum peptide biomarkers for diagnosing preeclampsia by LC-MS/MS peptidomics of samples from 31 PE patients and 31 matched healthy pregnant controls. A 19-peptide diagnostic panel achieved 100% sensitivity and 85.7% specificity; thymosin β4-derived peptides were among the 52 significant serum peptides differentiating preeclampsia from normal pregnancy. Documents TB4 fragments as components of the preeclampsia serum peptidome—providing evidence for TB4 involvement in the endothelial dysfunction and placental hypoxia that characterize preeclampsia pathophysiology.
