Demonstrates thymosin β4's neuroprotective and neurorestorative effects in experimental traumatic brain injury (TBI), finding that exogenous TB4 amplifies the brain's endogenous recovery processes. TB4 enhanced post-TBI angiogenesis, neurogenesis, synaptogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and axonal remodeling—comprehensively augmenting all five major endogenous neurorestoration mechanisms. Establishes TB4 as a multi-mechanism TBI treatment that targets the endogenous recovery processes limited in untreated TBI—providing a strong biological rationale for TB4 clinical development in TBI, where no pharmacological treatments have succeeded in Phase III trials.
