This review covers GH-releasing peptides (GHRPs), synthetic compounds that stimulate growth hormone release through receptors distinct from GHRH. Notably, GHRP-2 was effective when taken orally by children and showed synergistic effects with sermorelin, and in animal studies GHRP-6 treatment altered hypothalamic neurons that control GH secretion, increasing GHRH expression while decreasing somatostatin.
