Researchers compared the immunological and biological activity of growth hormone released in response to sermorelin (GHRH 1-29) in healthy volunteers using both standard immunoassays and a cell-based bioassay. They found that as GH peaks were approached, the biological activity of GH systematically exceeded its immunological activity, suggesting that GHRH stimulation releases GH isoforms with enhanced biological potency that are not fully detected by standard antibody-based tests.
