This study compared how two GH-releasing peptides (GHRP-2 and GHRP-6) stimulate growth hormone secretion in sheep and rat pituitary cells, finding important species differences. GHRP-2 increased cellular cAMP levels similarly to sermorelin in sheep cells but not in rat cells, while GHRP-6 released GH without raising cAMP in either species, suggesting these peptides act through different receptor subtypes that vary between species.
