In this multicenter clinical trial, thymosin alpha-1 significantly increased the fertilizing capacity of sperm from 76% (50/68) of infertile men tested using the sperm penetration assay. The enhancement ranged from 31-45% improvement and was dependent on thymosin alpha-1 concentration in seminal plasma. These findings support potential clinical applications of thymosin alpha-1 in diagnosing and treating male infertility associated with defective sperm function.
