Steers immunized against growth hormone-releasing factor had suppressed growth hormone levels, gained less weight, and produced lighter carcasses than controls, though they had increased fat deposition in rib sections. The results demonstrate that blocking growth hormone signaling in cattle reduces lean growth and alters body composition, with breed-specific differences in how intramuscular fat is affected.
