The growth hormone-releasing peptide GHRP-2 (KP 102) proved to be ten times more potent than earlier peptides like GHRP-6 in stimulating growth hormone release from sheep pituitary cells. Unexpectedly, its effect was completely blocked by a GRF receptor antagonist, suggesting GHRP-2 may interact with the GRF receptor system differently than previous generations of growth hormone-releasing peptides.
