More than half of children with growth hormone deficiency who were already receiving growth hormone injections showed a robust growth hormone response when tested with sermorelin, indicating their pituitary glands could still produce growth hormone if properly stimulated. This suggests these children could potentially benefit from future therapies that stimulate the body's own growth hormone production, such as oral growth hormone-releasing peptides, especially those with isolated growth hormone deficiency or those born by breech delivery.
