Case report of a 70-year-old woman who developed bilateral pleural effusion and pericardial effusion four weeks after semaglutide initiation, presenting to the emergency department with shortness of breath. Effusions resolved after semaglutide discontinuation. Documents a rare but serious serositis-type adverse reaction potentially attributable to semaglutide—contributing to pharmacovigilance for immune-mediated or inflammatory pleuro-pericardial complications, which clinicians may not anticipate in patients presenting with dyspnea during early GLP-1 RA therapy.
