Rat hindlimb suspension (7-day unloading) study examining whether daily intraperitoneal MOTS-c injection prevents the key functional alterations of soleus muscle disuse—slow-to-fast fiber type transition, atrophy, and increased fatigability. MOTS-c administration prevented increased muscle fatigue and attenuated fiber type shifting during unloading. Provides direct evidence that MOTS-c counteracts disuse-induced skeletal muscle dysfunction—relevant for bedrest, spaceflight, limb immobilization, and neuromuscular disease applications where preventing fast fiber conversion and fatigue resistance loss is a therapeutic priority.
