Researchers found that thymosin alpha 1 can reverse the immune-suppressing behavior of certain white blood cells (macrophages) in breast tumors that normally become less active after consuming dead cancer cells. When combined with chemotherapy in mice, thymosin alpha 1 significantly slowed tumor growth by reactivating the immune response, suggesting it could enhance cancer treatment effectiveness.
