This case report describes a 31-year-old woman at 35 weeks of pregnancy who developed severe COVID-19-related respiratory failure requiring an emergency cesarean section and subsequent life support with ECMO (a machine that oxygenates blood outside the body). Her treatment included thymosin alpha-1 for immune support along with antivirals, antibiotics, and steroids, and she ultimately made a full recovery. The case highlights the importance of specialized blood volume and airway management for postpartum COVID-19 patients on ECMO.
