A study of 127 COVID-19 patients in Wuhan found significant gender differences in how patients responded to thymosin alpha-1 treatment. Males experienced more symptoms overall and showed different patterns in inflammatory markers and lymphocyte counts compared to females after treatment. The results suggest that gender should be considered when evaluating thymosin alpha-1 therapy for COVID-19, as men and women may respond differently to the immune modulation.
