Three modified 29-amino-acid sermorelin analogs were tested in dairy heifers and found to stimulate growth hormone release in a dose-dependent manner comparable to the full-length 44-amino-acid growth hormone-releasing hormone. One analog (JG-73) actually produced greater total growth hormone release than the full-length peptide, and high doses of all peptides triggered a secondary growth hormone release about an hour after the initial peak.
