Thymosin alpha-1 was found to have both antioxidant properties and the ability to inhibit angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), which regulates blood pressure. The peptide effectively scavenged several types of harmful free radicals, reduced oxidative stress in brain cells, and bound to ACE with high affinity, suggesting it could have dual benefits for oxidative damage and hypertension.
