A new long-acting version of thymosin alpha-1 was created by fusing it with a human antibody fragment, and it proved more effective than standard thymosin alpha-1 at inhibiting breast cancer growth in mice. The fusion protein boosted key immune cells and signaling molecules in tumors and also helped restore immune function suppressed by hydrocortisone.
