Injecting dairy cows with growth hormone-releasing hormone peptides every four hours for ten days boosted milk production by up to 18.6% without increasing feed intake, significantly improving feed efficiency. Both the full 44-amino-acid peptide and the shorter 29-amino-acid fragment (sermorelin) produced similar increases in milk yield, demonstrating that the shorter fragment works just as well for stimulating milk production in cattle.
