This study tested a GHRH receptor blocker (MIA-602) as a potential treatment for endometriosis, a painful condition where uterine tissue grows outside the uterus. In a mouse model, daily treatment with MIA-602 significantly reduced the size of endometrial tissue implants, and it also slowed the growth of endometriosis cells in lab experiments. The results suggest that targeting the GHRH receptor could be an effective add-on to current endometriosis treatments.
