This study found that blocking the growth hormone-releasing hormone receptor (GHRH-R) can slow the growth of gastric (stomach) cancer. In lab experiments and animal models, the GHRH-R blocker MIA-602 effectively inhibited stomach cancer cell growth by shutting down key inflammatory signaling pathways. Higher levels of GHRH-R in tumor tissue were linked to worse patient survival, suggesting this receptor could be a useful treatment target.
