In mouse models of melanoma and sepsis, thymosin alpha-1 reduced lung metastases by 32%, slowed tumor growth by up to 46%, and showed a positive trend toward improved sepsis survival with no toxicity. Combining thymosin alpha-1 with an anti-PD-1 antibody further reduced melanoma metastases, supporting the potential of using thymosin alpha-1 alongside checkpoint immunotherapy.
