Researchers compared growth hormone responses to a GHRH-plus-arginine stimulation test between children and adults with Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS), a genetic condition often associated with obesity and growth hormone deficiency. Children with PWS produced significantly higher growth hormone peaks than adults, and body mass strongly influenced the results, particularly in patients with the deletion-type genetic cause. The study highlights that age and weight must be carefully considered when assessing growth hormone function in PWS patients.
