Scientists constructed a triple-repeat concatemer of thymosin alpha-1 that could be produced efficiently in bacteria and showed enhanced biological activity compared to the chemically synthesized single peptide. The concatemer more effectively stimulated T cell proliferation and upregulated the IL-2 receptor, making it a promising platform for large-scale production of highly active thymosin alpha-1.
