Six patients with Sheehan's syndrome, a condition caused by pituitary damage after childbirth, were evaluated with various hormone stimulation tests including GHRH. All showed severe and widespread pituitary hormone deficiencies, and three had developed diabetes. CT scans in four patients revealed partially empty sella turcica, suggesting that this anatomical finding may be a common consequence of the pituitary damage seen in Sheehan's syndrome.
