Researchers created a double-length version of thymosin alpha-1 (a concatemer) that could be produced efficiently in bacteria and showed stronger immune-stimulating and anti-tumor effects than the standard form. In mice bearing melanoma tumors, the new construct significantly slowed tumor growth, making it a promising alternative to chemically synthesized thymosin alpha-1.
