This study tracked insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) levels in dairy cattle across different ages and stages of lactation and found significant variation throughout life. Administering growth hormone-releasing factor increased IGF-I levels in lactating cows and boosted milk production by 14%, demonstrating a direct link between GRF treatment, IGF-I levels, and dairy productivity.
