This study tested the GHRH stimulation test in children with growth hormone deficiency and short stature. The test showed poor sensitivity for diagnosing GH deficiency since 65-80% of truly GH-deficient children still responded normally to GHRH, likely because most have hypothalamic rather than pituitary problems, making the GHRH test unsuitable as a standalone diagnostic tool.
