Researchers found that growth hormone-releasing hormone increases the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and related inflammatory mediators in human lung cancer cells. The GHRH antagonist MZ-5-156 counteracted these effects, suggesting that GHRH antagonists may be beneficial not only for cancer but also for other diseases involving excessive oxidative and nitrosative stress.
